Discover the beautiful local area of Camping 't Hoekje

The site is located about 200 meters from the beach. The 'Blue Flag' waves on the beaches of Westkapelle. Two kilometers away from Camping 't Hoekje lies Westkapelle. This small, pleasant seaside resort is situated at the mouth of the Western Scheldt and the beginning of the North Sea. The camping cite is surrounded by many bike- and footpaths. Quite near you can find tennis courts and a subtropical swimming paradise. Among many other possibilities to relax you have the chance for fishing in the direct neighbourhood – as well in the nearby Kreek as in the sea. In Westkapelle you can rent horses or put your own in charge or also visit a riding school. On the camping site itself there is a rental service of bicycles for big and small. Camping ‘t Hoekje gives you a warm welcome!

Clean and safe beaches

The camping site is about 200 m away from the beach. The “blue flag” stands for the clean quality of the sea water and for the convenient placement of the beach.

At the beach there are showers and toilets available. The rescuers of the baywatch watch over the beach and a first aid station (EHBO-Post) ensures additional security. You can also rent wind breaks, sunshades and sunbeds with cushion on beautiful days.

And the cosy beach pavilions invite for a cool drink.

Near Westkapelle

About 2 km in the west is Westkapelle. This little seaside resort is situated at the estuary of the Westershelde into the North Sea.

The century-old lighthouse, world-famous by the pictures of the painter Mondriaan, still indicates the entrance to the village. You can visit the Polderhuis Westkapelle, Dyke- and Warmuseum. Here you will find beautiful beaches, a splendid lake (Kreek) and a forest behind the dunes. Westkapelle, which has a turbulent war history, lies on the tip of Walcheren with its point in the sea. The enormous dike protects the place from the dangerous North Sea but also offers many possibilities for anglers. By the way: Westkapelle is one of the places with the most sun hours in the Netherlands.

3 km in the other direction you will come to Zoutelande. This gregarious village has a promenade and many inviting shops and cafés.

Things to do in Walcheren

Vacation on Walcheren is always a good idea. This former island at the Westershelde and the North Sea has a lot to offer.

High dunes, endless beaches, picturesque villages, extensive fields but also cosy little towns with shops an daily tourist markets. Not to forget the nice cafés and restaurants with always fresh fish and mussels.
